Darren Aronofsky to Direct ‘Cujo’ for Netflix?

Now here’s some unusual news. It was recently revealed that Netflix would be making a new Cujo film, adapting the Stephen King book of the same name. What wasn’t known was that this is apparently a priority and moving quickly. How quick? Well, a big-time director is now in talks to helm, as you’ll see below.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, no less than Darren Aronofsky is negotiating to direct. There’s no writer on board yet, but that’s likely to change soon, assuming the filmmaker officially comes aboard. The Oscar nominee has toyed with studio films before, having nearly made Batman: Year One, RoboCop, and The Wolverine, not to mention being among the candidates for Man of Steel. So, he’s clearly not opposed to it. Aronofsky’s latest movie, Caught Stealing, is in post production and will be out in late August, so he seems ready to pivot to his next project. Stay tuned.
