Conan O’Brien to Host the 97th Oscars!

We finally know who will be hosting the 97th Oscars. It was revealed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this morning that the host will be none other than Conan O’Brien. He’ll be taking over from Jimmy Kimmel, who has had the duties the prior two ceremonies. O’Brien has long been rumored as a potential Oscar host, but this will mark his first time handling the job at the Academy Award ceremony.

O’Brien’s humorous reaction was as follows: “America demanded it and now it’s happening: Taco Bell’s new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other news, I’m hosting the Oscars”

This was the joint statement put out by the Academy’s CEO Bill Kramer and their President Janet Yang: “We are thrilled and honored to have the incomparable Conan O’Brien host the Oscars this year. He is the perfect person to help lead our global celebration of film with his brilliant humor, his love of movies and his live TV expertise. His remarkable ability to connect with audiences will bring viewers together to do what the Oscars do best — honor the spectacular films and filmmakers of this year.”

The Academy Awards will be held on March 2nd, 2025.
