The Russo Brothers Are in Talks to Return to Make the Next Two ‘Avengers’ Films

Here’s a shocker. The next two Avengers movies have been in a holding pattern, with Destin Daniel Cretton making the fifth one, with the sixth one searching for a big name. Rumors had Shawn Levy perhaps taking over for Cretton after he dropped out or making the next one, but that never came back. However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has gone back to some favorite sons to potentially pick up the mantle.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Russo Brothers are coming back. Yes, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo could be returning after making the prior two team up epics. They’ll take over the fifth and sixth Avengers films, previously known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. The latter should still be Secret Wars, but the former is getting reworked, to be sure. Assuming it all comes together, the filmmakers are returning to the MCU fold.
