‘Shrek 5’ Officially Confirmed!

Shrek 5 is officially happening! After Eddie Murphy announced he was recording lines for Donkey in the upcoming sequel during the Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F press tour, Universal has finally announced that the movie is indeed in production. Mike Myers, Murphy, and Cameron Diaz are returning to reprise their iconic roles as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona.

Walt Dohrn is stepping into the director’s chair alongside Brad Ableson. Gina Shay and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri will be the executive producers. As Murphy also revealed, a Donkey spinoff movie is also in the works after the success of the Puss in Boots movies, though no official confirmation has been made by Universal on that front.
