Siân Heder to Direct Adaptation of ‘Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’

After the incredible success of Apple TV+’s CODA, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2022, director Siân Heder has chosen her next project, which will be an adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin‘s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow.

Paramount Pictures will distribute the film with Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner producing.

Mark Bomback will write the screenplay, which, per the book’s dust jacket, will tell the story of Sam and Sadie, childhood friends who reunite as adults in the video game industry. The full synopsis of the book can be found below:

“Sam and Sadie are brilliant, successful, and rich, but these qualities won’t protect them from their own creative ambitions or the betrayals of their hearts. The book examines the multifarious nature of identity, disability, failure, the redemptive possibilities in play, and above all, our need to connect: to be loved and to love.”

No release date or cast members have been announced, but it’s great to see Heder back in the director’s chair for a movie based on a highly popular book with a strong fanbase. Here’s hoping it delivers, but after the crowd-pleasing success of CODA, it probably will.
