Joey’s Home Movies For the Week of December 25th – End the Year with a ‘Barbenheimer’ Revisit!

Welcome back to my Home Movies! Today, with it being the day after Christmas, as well as the final Tuesday of 2023, there really isn’t much new to recommend. So, instead of focusing just on what’s hitting shelves this week, I’m looking back to cite the biggest film pairing of the year in the Barbenheimer phenomenon. Read on for more…

Joey’s Top Pick

Barbenheimer

Yes, Barbenheimer. I previously wrote here about the lessons studios should and shouldn’t take from this success, while Myles reviewed the experience of the double feature here. As for Barbie and Oppenheimer themselves, you can see my four star raves here and here, respectively. With nothing really new to pick up, why not double back and give this another look? Especially as a double feature, it’s such a moment in time for 2023. On their own? They’re two of the year’s best. Together? They’re Barbenheimer!

Also Available This Week

Stephen King

Butcher’s Crossing

Charlie Victor Romeo (3D)

King on Screen

The Man in the Iron Mask (4K)

*No more Criterion releases this year, but check back in January for plenty of new ones!*

Stay tuned for more next week…
