‘Flora and Son’ Officially Submitting Two Tracks for Best Original Song

John Carney‘s Flora and Son has been pegged as a potential Best Original Song contender ever since it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. Our own Joey has been a big fan of the movie, raving about it, and the music, here. Well, today Apple announced the two songs that they’re putting forth for official Oscar contention.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is submitting “Meet in the Middle” and “High Life” for Academy Award consideration. Star Eve Hewson co-wrote both songs, with Carney and Gary Clark. They’re both highlights of the movie, playing strongly into the narrative, which could help with the Oscar hopes. Stay tuned to see how Flora and Son fares this awards season.
