Some very sad news emerged on Saturday night, as actor Matthew Perry has passed away at the age of 54. The film and television star, best known for his work on Friends, was beloved for his comedic timing. He had his addiction issues, but was also a champion of helping to get others sober. He will, of course, be missed.
You can read the full obituary at the Associated Press, and elsewhere, but Perry was obviously one of the breakout stars of Friends, playing Chandler Bing. Additionally, he had a hit on the big screen with The Whole Nine Yards, as well as memorable work in Aaron Sorkin shows like Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and The West Wing. Most recently, he was one of the leads on the newest version of The Odd Couple. Perry was an eight time Screen Actors Guild nominee, five time Emmy nominee, and a Golden Globe nominee. RIP.
