Interview: Chris Vaughn of the Dallas Cowboys Discusses His Very Personal Story Within ‘NFL Draft: The Pick Is In’

For my money, the most captivating part of the documentary NFL Draft: The Pick Is In is watching what happens with the draft prospects of Deuce Vaughn. Not only was he a small running back hoping to get drafted, his father Chris Vaughn is a scout for the Dallas Cowboys. How this all comes together is incredible, so when given the opportunity to talk about it with the elder Vaughn, it was a no-brainer. I spoke to Ian Rapoport here about the documentary. Today, it’s Vaughn’s turn.

Below, you can hear my conversation with Vaughn. Not only is Vaughn’s story incredibly interesting, it felt very fulfilling on a personal level to talk to a member of the Dallas Cowboys. My mother was a huge Cowboy fan, so this was special in that way as well. In terms of the chat, we get into the how and the why of his story, alongside his son. There’s also some interesting bits on what working for the Cowboys is like. I got a real kick out of this and I hope you will too.
