Emerald Fennell’s ‘Saltburn’ to Open 67th BFI London Film Festival

One of the more anticipated films of 2023 is Saltburn from Emerald Fennell. Her follow up to Promising Young Woman stars Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe, and Carey Mulligan. A strong cast in an exciting filmmaker’s latest work is enough to get anyone pumped. Well, those attending the 67th BFI London Film Festival will get to see the movie first, as it’s opening the festival. Saltburn will then probably play other festivals, before opening in theaters on November 24th. Fennell writes and directs, while she produces alongside Margot Robbie and Josey McNamara.

The official plot synopsis is as follows:

Academy Award winning filmmaker Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman) brings us a beautifully wicked tale of privilege and desire. Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.
