First Trailer for ‘Citadel: Diana’ Teases the First Expansion of the Citadel Spyverse

After a rather thrilling season one finale reveal, Prime Video revealed the next chapter in the Citadel saga during the finale’s end credits. Billed as the first expansion of the Citadel Spyverse, Citadel: Diana is the first of many local-language series developed around the idea of Citadel being a global spy agency operating worldwide.

Citadel: Diana is executive produced by Gina Gardini, alongside Riccardo Tozzi, Marco Chimenz, Giovanni Stabilini, Emanuele Savoini,  Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Ostot, Scott Nemes, and David Weil. Arnaldo Catinari directed all episodes, with Alessandro Fabbri, Ilaria Bernardini, Laura Colella, Gianluca Bernardini, and Giordana Mari serving as screenwriters. Fabbri also developed the show and is its head writer.

Italian star Matilda De Angelis will lead the show as the titular character, with Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Julia Piaton, Thekla Reuten, Daniele Paoloni, Bernhard Schütz, and Filippo Nigro also slated to appear. The next series in the works from the Citadel Spyverse is an Indian spinoff directed by Raj & DK and starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a Spanish and Mexican spinoff in development, and the second season of the main Citadel series, directed by Joe Russo.

Here is the plot synopsis:

“After a season full of cinematic action, high stakes, and surprises episode to episode, the finale episode turned the dial up further by delivering huge twists with nail-biting reveals, as the agents of Citadel discovered the identity of the mole who brought down the agency at the hands of rival syndicate Manticore. Betrayals were uncovered, and questions were answered, and the consequences that unfolded in the finale episode created ripple effects that will be felt throughout the Spyverse. The close of the finale episode featured an explosive post-credits teaser of Citadel: Diana, with an exciting look at what’s to come as the Citadel Spyverse expands with the next chapter.”
