Interview: Producer and Songwriter Rita Wilson on the Music and Warmth of ‘A Man Called Otto’

Rita Wilson is a triple threat. Not only is she an accomplished actress and a noted producer, she also happens to be a talented singer/songwriter. So, whenever she gets involved with a project, my ears perk up. In the case of A Man Called Otto, she produces and contributes the wonderful song Til You’re Home. I first spoke to her about two years ago here, paired with Larry Groupé and Rod Lurie in support of their film The Outpost, but today, it’s just Wilson and I.

Below, you can hear my conversation with Wilson. We discuss her song Til You’re Home, as well as music in general. We also get into A Man Called Otto a bit, alongside some light chatter about how she and her leading man/producing partner Tom Hanks (plus, you know, her longtime spouse) came to want to remake A Man Called Ove. It’s an enjoyable discussion, full of laughs and fascinating topics. I had a great time and I think she did too. Now, you’ll get to do so as well…

Here now is my interview with A Man Called Otto producer and Til You’re Home singer/songwriter Rita Wilson. Enjoy:

A Man Called Otto is in theaters on December 30th!
