Margot Robbie and Diego Calva to Campaign for Lead Categories for ‘Babylon’ While the Movie Will Officially Run Three Hours Long

Paramount Pictures

Despite a website error on Paramount’s For Your Consideration page that saw Brad Pitt in the lead actor category and Diego Calva in supporting, Variety has confirmed that Calva will indeed be competing for lead actor, while Pitt will campaign for a supporting actor award for Damien Chazelle‘s Babylon.

Margot Robbie will be campaigning for Lead Actress, while Tobey Maguire, Jovan Adepo, Jean Smart, and Li Jun Li compete for supporting actor and actress awards respectively.

Variety has also confirmed that the runtime for Chazelle’s latest movie is his longest yet, clocking in at a whopping three hours and eight minutes. Some will think it’s great news, while others will automatically say it’s too long. But since the movie hasn’t been screened yet, no one can definitively say if the runtime will be in its favor. Time will tell if Babylon will be an awards darling when it releases in theatres on December 23.
