October is one of the most interesting months on the movie calendar. Not only are fall film festivals going on, leading to Oscar-centric titles hitting screens, there’s also no shortage of fright flicks. Throw in the occasional blockbuster and it’s hard not to consider this month one of the better ones for cinema, overall. If nothing else, there’s rarely a more diverse one. So, for this weekend’s Awards Radar Community Question, it only makes sense to take your October temperature. Which release this month are you most interested in seeing? We want to find out, so take a gander at some of our mentioned options and then let us know!
For many of you, it’ll be a horror film. Halloween Ends and Hellraiser are the two highest profile ones, but there’s also smaller movies like Terrifier 2. Plus, Scream 2 is getting a re-release, which should have some appeal as well. Suffice it to say, if you’re looking to be scared, there are options that can serve this purpose.
For others, it’s prestige fare that springs to mind. There, your options include Amsterdam, Armageddon Time, The Banshees of Inisherin, Tár, and Till, to name some of the higher profile ones. I’ve reviewed all of those, often at film festivals, so you know my thoughts on them. This month, you’ll be able to chime in on those flicks and let us know if they’re truly major Academy Award contenders or just pretenders.
There’s also DC’s Black Adam, for you blockbuster fans yearning for something bigger. As you can see, the options are myriad, for a whole range of cinema. You can watch movie monsters, Oscar hopefuls, and superheroes, potentially even in the same day…
The choice is now yours. Of all the titles mentioned above, which is the one you want to see most in October? Maybe it’s one this month that I didn’t cite? Whatever the case may be, we’re all ears/eyes, so don’t be shy!
Which October release are you most looking forward to? Let us know!
