Mary Harron’s ‘Dalíland’ to Close Out TIFF 2022

Mary Harron‘s Dalíland, starring Ben Kingsley as Salvador Dalí, will close out this year’s edition of the Toronto International Film Festival. The film will premiere on September 17th, a day before the Festival is scheduled to conclude.

Barbara Sukowa, Christopher Briney, Andrea Pejic and Ezra Miller round out the cast. The movie will explore Dalí’s tempestous marriage with his wife and muse, Gala, in their later years during the 70’s. Sukowa will play the role of the painter’s wife.

In recent years, Mary Harron has directed The Moth Diaries and Charlie Says, which was nominated as Best Film at the 2018 Venice Film Festival. She co-wrote the screenplay of Dalíland with John C. Walsh, the director of 2011’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.

There is currently no information available regarding when Dalíland will receive a wide release in theaters, or if it will distributed theatrically at all. Edmund Butt will compose the original score for the film.
