Focus Features Sets a November Release Date for ‘Armageddon Time’

After a fairly successful debut at the Cannes Film Festival back in the spring for Armageddon Time, Focus Features has turned their attention to awards season. Yesterday, they announced their releasee date plans for James Gray‘s film. The movie, which stars Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong, Anne Hathaway, Banks Repeta, Jaylin Webb, Tovah Feldshuh, John Diehl, Andrew Polk, and Ryan Sell, may be Gray’s best chance at Oscar attention yet.

Here is what Focus sent out in their press release about the plans for Armageddon Time:

  • Adding another theatrical release to its diverse fall slate, Focus Features’ ARMAGEDDON TIME is set for a limited release opening up in exclusive markets on October 28, 2022. The film premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival to a seven-minute standing ovation and strong critical support. 
  • The film will continue to expand domestically on November 4, 2022 and go nationwide on November 11, 2022.
  • From acclaimed filmmaker James Gray, ARMAGEDDON TIME is a deeply personal coming-of-age story about the strength of family and the generational pursuit of the American Dream. 
  • ARMAGEDDON TIME, written and directed by James Gray, stars Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong, Anne Hathaway, Banks Repeta, Jaylin Webb, Tovah Feldshuh, John Diehl, Andrew Polk, and Ryan Sell. Producers on the project are Anthony Katagas via his Keep Your Head banner, Marc Butan via his MadRiver Pictures banner and Rodrigo Teixeira via his RT Features banner. The film is executive produced by Lourenço Sant’anna, Alan Terpins, Marco Tulio Kehdi, Prodigo Films’ Francisco Civita and Beto Gauss, Gustavo Debs.
