Colman Domingo loves acting. Talking to him for any length of time makes that abundantly clear, but also just looking at the work does the same. Whether it’s Euphoria, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Zola, or any other of his numerous credits, the joy of the craft just exudes from him in every frame. Not only does that make Domingo the type of character actor who’s a delight to watch on screen, it also makes him someone very interesting to chat with. A little while back, in advance of Emmy season, I hopped on Zoom to have a conversation with him about just that. Today, I’m thrilled to present it to you all.
Below, you can see my discussion with Domingo. This is a conversation somewhat focused on his craft, though a lot of the specifics do deal with his recent turn on Euphoria, as well as on the big screen in Zola. Both of those performances are wildly different and have rightly got him some major acclaim. Between these projects and his upcoming role in Rustin, it’s also likely that Domingo will be talking about his work in the context of the awards season plenty more. He’s a talent, a lovely human being, and a pleasure to talk to, as you’re about to see…
Here now is my interview with Euphoria actor Colman Domingo. Enjoy:
Euphoria can be seen on HBO!
