First Trailer for ‘On the Count of Three’ Releases

The first trailer for Jerrod Carmichael‘s On the Count of Three has been released. Directed by Carmichael, and written by Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch, the movie stars Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, J.B. Smoove, Tiffany Haddish, and Henry Winkler.

Its plot synopsis reads “Two guns. Two best friends. And a pact to end their lives when the day is done.”

Our editor-in-chief saw the movie at the 2021 edition of the Sundance International Film Festival and had this to say about the movie, and you can read his full thoughts on it here:

On the Count of Three may be the directorial debut from actor and comedian Jerrod Carmichael, but it feels just as much like something that the Safdie Brothers could have come up with. There isn’t quite the stress level that the latter have trademarked, but Carmichael finds a similarly weird premise to jump off from. To be sure, the plot description is more likely to turn off viewers than attract them. However, that does this movie a disservice, since it actually has a ton to say.”

You can watch the red band trailer below and see the movie in theatres or stream it on video on demand on May 13th:
