‘Barbie’ Sets a Summer 2023 Release Date

We’re all going to be living in a Barbie world, but it won’t be until next summer. At CinemaCon yesterday, Warner Bros. announced that the movie will be opening on July 21st, 2023. As you probably know, Margot Robbie stars as the title character, co-starring alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken, while Greta Gerwig is directing a screenplay she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach. The studio also debuted a first look image, which you can see above and below.

As noted by Variety, this date actually puts Barbie directly up against none other than Christopher Nolan that weekend. Yes, the toy adaptation will be facing off with Oppenheimer at the box office. That will be something to watch next July, especially since both films have absolutely stacked casts. More on Barbie when we have it!
