The future-facing comedy Upload returns for its second season on Friday, March 11th. Its vision of a digital afterlife gets an upgrade in season two, with a new spotlight on an anti-technology faction seeking to take down the corporation that wants to be the home of the rich when they die. It’s just as fun and thought-provoking, a welcome return almost two years after it first started for one of the best shows on Prime Video today.
Awards Radar had the chance to speak with the talented members of this show’s cast. Andy Allo and Robbie Amell unpacked the ever-evolving relationship between Nathan and his devoted Angel Nora. and Kevin Bigley and Zainab Johnson addressed the changing dynamic between Luke and Aleesha. Allegra Edwards and Owen Daniels delved into the surprising bond that develops between Ingrid and the A.I. Guy. Here’s an excerpt of what Edwards had to say about that connection:
“I didn’t expect it at all. Owen always gets a heads up on everything because he’s in the writers’ room. Sometimes, I’ll get these texts like, Allegra, just wait! We’re going to see a lot of each other. And I’m going, oh boy, oh boy, what’s coming? It’s so funny. I didn’t expect it, but it’s also so obvious. I love that you said we’re both nuisances. We kind of are. And we’re both desperately lonely. I don’t know if A.I. Guy recognizes that he’s lonely, but he likes to linger, and you’ve got to wonder why.”
