Sony Dates ‘A Man Called Otto’ Starring Tom Hanks

Sony has officially dated Marc Forster‘s A Man Called Ove remake, titled A Man Called Otto for this year, releasing shortly after Kasi LemmonsI Wanna Dance With Somebody, a Whitney Houston biopic.

A Man Called Otto, starring Tom Hanks, will be released exclusively in theatres on Christmas Day, while I Wanna Dance With Somebody will be released on December 21. The Whitney Houston biopic, starring Naomi Ackie as the late pop singer/songwriter, is distributed by TriStar pictures, though it is unclear which division of Sony is distributing A Man Called Otto.

Both movies look to be vying as major awards contenders for the 2023 awards season, as Tom Hanks and Marc Forster are releasing a film shortly after Kasi Lemmons’ latest picture drops in theatres, which could be shaking things up this year. Though we will only know if these films have any potential once they release.
