Charlie Day is a comedic genius. Watch any episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and you’ll see how that’s just clear as day (no pun intended). He’s a master of getting a laugh. Whether it’s on that hit TV show or on the big screen in things like Going the Distance and Horrible Bosses, Day knows how to tickle your funny bone. Now, with the romantic comedy I Want You Back, he gets to be a leading man. Seeing him anchor a strong rom com is really pleasurable, so once I saw the film, I knew I had to talk to him. My review of the movie comes tomorrow (spoiler alert: it’s a positive one), but today, our chat comes your way.
Below, you can hear my conversation with Day. We touch on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, of course, but the main focus is obviously on I Want You Back. Mostly, I’m just curious about how he chooses what to sign on to, how he has such good comedic taste, and how nice it is to see him be a leading man. He’s very kind and quick to compliment the flick’s director Jason Orley, which is a bit of kudos I wholeheartedly agree with. Day clearly is proud of this one, as he should be. You all can see this one on Amazon Prime Video tomorrow, as well as my aforementioned review. Don’t miss it…
Here now is my interview with I Want You Back star Charlie Day. Enjoy:
