Interview: Jamie Dornan Stops By to Discuss His Awards Worthy Turn in ‘Belfast’

Jamie Dornan has never had a role like the one he has in Belfast. He’d be the first to tell you so, too. The film is so special, it was always going to be a memorable part. Dornan just is able to make it his own in a unique way, showcasing the actor in a new manner as well. As such, getting to talk to him about it would certainly prove to be a fun experience. Not only is he a talented actor, he’s just a good dude as well. A few weeks ago, Dornan and I hopped on Zoom to talk about Belfast. Now, you can find out what we each said…

Below, you can see my conversation with Dornan. Just yesterday, I chatted with Kenneth Branagh (here). Previously, I’d spoken with Caitriona Balfe (here) about Belfast as well. Now, it’s Dornan’s turn. Pardon my dog losing his mind at one point in the chat, but he’s as enthusiastic about the film as I am. Dornan and I talk about how he prepped for the role, what the experience of promoting it has been like, and more. He’s a delight, through and through. As I’ve been saying, Belfast remains a must-see, so don’t you dare miss it!

Out of TIFF, I raved about the movie. This here is just some of my praise for it:

This cast will make you fall in love with them, almost instantly. Newcomer Jude Hill is a revelation, instantly becoming someone to watch, while Caitriona Balfe gets a big screen vehicle to make you fall in love with her talents. Judi Dench is her reliably great self, while Ciarán Hinds has never been better. Then, there’s Jamie Dornan, who will make you completely re-evaluate him as an actor. He has a magnetism here that’s impossible not to be won over by.

Here now is my interview with Belfast star Jamie Dornan. Enjoy:

Belfast is available to watch right now!
