Kirsten Dunst Joins Alex Garland’s ‘Civil War’

Ex Machina and Annihilation filmmaker Alex Garland has found his next project. With the release of the upcoming Men, starring Jessie Buckley and Rory Kinnear, the filmmaker will also be doing a film with A24 titled Civil War.

Not much is known about the movie, aside from a brief tidbit that explains that “the film is set in a near-future America” and that a star-studded cast will be leading it. Kirsten Dunst, NarcosWagner Moura, Dune‘s Stephen McKinley Henderson, and How It Ends Cailee Spaeny will be starring in the movie, with a script also written by Henderson.

Dunst will be leading the movie, with the other actors acting as supporting roles, but it is still unclear when the movie will begin production and when it will be released. One can assume it will start soon, or potentially after Men gets released this year. The sure thing we know is that A24 will be distributing both movies, signaling a return for Garland with the studio, after working with Paramount for Annihilation.
