Keanu Reeves is Back as Neo in ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ Trailer

There was once a prolonged period of time in which audiences simply accepted the fact that The Matrix film series was over with after Revolutions was released in 2003. Almost two full decades have gone by since the release of that film but in 2019, we learned that we would be entering the Matrix one more time.

Two days ago, a short little teaser for The Matrix Resurrections was released online, announcing that the first official trailer would be released on Thursday and now it’s here. The trailer promises yet another exciting and mind-bending journey for long-time fans of the franchise. You can take a look at the trailer below:

The film will see the return of familiar faces such as Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett-Smith, while new blood will be added as well including Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra, and Christina Ricci.

It’s also the first film in the franchise to only be directed by Lana Wachowski, meaning that Lilly will be sitting this one out. The Matrix Resurrections is scheduled to be released in theaters and on HBO Max the same day on December 22, 2021.
