First Trailer for Jane Campion’s ‘The Power of the Dog’ Arrives

The first trailer for Jane Campion‘s The Power of the Dog is finally here, a few weeks before its Venice premiere on September the 2nd and its TIFF Special Presentation screening on September 10th. This is Jane Campion’s first film since she directed 2009’s Bright Star, based on the book of the same name by Thomas Savage. The movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Thomasin McKenzie, Frances Conroy, Keith Carradine, Peter Carroll, and Adam Beach. Here’s the official plot synopsis from Netflix:

“Charismatic rancher Phil Burbank inspires fear and awe in those around him. When his brother brings home a new wife and her son, Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love.”
