Anthony Mackie Officially Set to Star in ‘Captain America 4’

Some big (if expected) news out of the world of Marvel. It is now confirmed that Anthony Mackie will yield the famous Captain America shield again in the upcoming 4th Captain America movie.

Previously, Mackie’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sam Wilson, was a more-or-less sidekick to Steve Rogers under the alias Falcon. That was until the Disney+ original series, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, confirmed that Sam Wilson will now take the mantle of Captain America in the MCU. He will now lead the next Captain America film.

This news comes months after creator of the show, Malcolm Spellman (who our own Joey Magidson recently interviewed here), confirmed that he was developing a fourth installment. While many initially speculated that Mackie would lead the film, it is currently unknown whether or not his co-stars from The Falcon And The Winter Soldier will appear in the film. Stay tuned for more!
