Interview: Regina Hall on Crafting a Complex Character in ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ and Her Fantastic Ensemble

Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers is the next big ensemble drama, uniting nine people in search of meaning in their lives in a suspiciously serene retreat environment run by the mysterious Masha (Nicole Kidman). Among the attendees is Carmel (Regina Hall), a gentle, shy woman who at first seems to be the nicest of the group but reveals an inner rage that gradually – and unpredictably – bubbles over to the surface.

Awards Radar had the chance to speak with Hall about what drew her to this role, how it compares with her other major TV gig on Black Monday, and working with such a superb cast.

The first three episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers premiere Wednesday, August 18th on Hulu, with one new episode dropping every Wednesday after that.
