Box Office Report for the Week of June 25th

The movies have returned. The week of June 25th is, by far, the pandemic’s most important week in terms of box-office with the release of the highly anticipated F9: The Fast Saga. According to BoxOfficePro, F9‘s opening weekend started at $70 million, which is the best since December 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which opened to $177.38 million when it opened two years ago. It’s great to see many screenings of F9 selling out in many parts of the world, showing great signs for a return to normalcy, and hopefully, soon, we will finally put this pandemic behind us. Whether you like the Fast & Furious movies or not, you can’t deny that these movies need to be experienced on the biggest screen possible for maximum effect. Here’s the full list of the top 10 films of the week:

  1. F9: The Fast Saga – $70M – 4,179 theatres
  2. A Quiet Place Part II – $6,2M (-32%) – 3,124 theatres
