Rachel Weisz, Colin Farrell to Star in Todd Solondz’s ‘Love Child’

Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell, who previous starred together in Yorgos Lanthimos‘s dystopian black comedy The Lobster will be reuniting in Todd Solondz‘s newest feature Love Child.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cinetic Media, CAA Media Finance as well as MadRiver International have confirmed that Todd Solondz will direct Love Child with Weisz and Farrell set to star in leading roles.

The film is billed as a “dark and hilarious twist” on the classical Oedipus story, with a precocious kid who schemes to rid himself of his brutish dad so he can have his mom all to himself. But things go awry when a handsome stranger appears.

Both Cinetic Media and CAA Media Finance will set up the financing for the project and will represent domestic rights alongside WME. Handling the international sales will be MadRiver International who will pitch the film to global buyers at the Cannes virtual market sometime this month.
