Awards Radar Community: What Are Your Favorite Films of 2021 So Far?

As we approach June, among the many things worth taking note of is that the first half of 2021 is almost done. Wow. Yes, believe it or not, just over a month from now you’ll see my Best of the First Half article. Time really does fly. In the first days of July, I’ll be chronicling the top films and performances from the year, so far. Before that, however, I wanted to take this moment to do a check in with all of you. What movies have struck your fancy so far? Your favorite flicks since January 1st, that’s what we at Awards Radar want to hear from the community today…

Today, we want to know about the film or films that you loved most so far this year. If you’re like some of us here on the site, Spiral: From the Book of Saw could be an obvious candidate. Maybe Army of the Dead is more to your liking? Speaking of genre work, A Quiet Place Part II is out today and may well be what does it for your. Other candidates include The Mitchells vs the Machines, Raya and the Last Dragon, Shiva Baby, and Wrath of Man, just to name a few.

If we’re counting the hybrid 2020/2021 flicks, that opens up plenty of more options, too. Just look at this list: Cherry, The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Malcolm and Marie, The Mauritanian, Nomadland…that’s just scratching the surface, too.

Perhaps you “went” to a film festival this year and have a favorite from that? In that case, a movie that could easily be your pick would be Coda. If you’ve seen it, you know. If you haven’t, you’re a few months away still from understanding why it was the belle of the ball, so to speak.

The choice is now in your capable hands, dear readers. Does a movie or movies stick out to you as the highlight of the year so far? If so, let us know. If not, let us know what not. The floor is now yours…

Let us know what your favorite films of 2021 so far are!
