Marvel’s ‘Secret Invasion’ Reveals Its Directors

Marvel and Disney+ have set the directors for their next MCU streaming series. The Hollywood Reporter released the news today that Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go) and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) will be taking on directing duties for Secret Invasion

Plot details are being kept close to the Marvel vest for now, although the casting of Ben Mendelsohn (who played the Skull character Talos in Captain Marvel) hints that the series will be diving into the Secret Invasion storyline from the comics, where the shape-shifting Skrulls had invaded human society and even taken over the identities of some of Earth’s most high profile superheroes, masquerading as them for years.

While many expected Captain Marvel to feature the Secret Invasion storyline, that film actually subverted expectations by having the Skrulls be the good guys in the story. Their shape-shifting ways were revealed though, and seeded into the MCU again with their surprise appearance masquerading as Nick Fury and Maria Hill in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Also appearing in Secret Invasion as confirmed members of the cast alongside Mendelsohn are Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir (rumored to be the villain), and Samuel L. Jackson, returning to the MCU as Nick Fury. That’s a heck of a cast.

The series is set to shoot in Europe later this year, and there’s no word yet on how many episodes each director will be in charge of for the 6-episode series.
