Emilia Clarke Joins Marvel’s ‘Secret Invasion’

The cast of one of Marvel’s most-anticipated Disney+ shows is slowly taking form. After yesterday’s announcement of Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman joining the show, Variety now reports that Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will be making her MCU debut in Secret Invasion, starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos and Kingsley Ben-Adir as the show’s main antagonist.

The plot for the show and details on who Clarke will play has been kept under wraps, aside form this short blurb from Marvel.com:

“The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.”

We can, however, definitely start anticipating for the series a little bit more, as additional details will most likely be announced very soon, as the show is slowly gearing up for a Fall 2021 production start in the United Kingdom. No release date has been confirmed as of yet, but we’d imagine that it’s tentatively slated to come out in 2022, before or after Nia DaCosta’s Captain Marvel 2, set to release in theaters on November 11, 2022.
