As Martin Scorsese’s new film Killers of the Flower Moon gears up for production its cast is being filled out, with Apple announcing today four new actors who will be taking on supporting roles in the highly-anticipated film.
William Belleau (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Louis Cancelmi (The Irishman), and Grammy-winning singer-songwriters Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson are all joining the previously announced cast that includes Jesse Plemons, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Lily Gladstone.
Set in 1920s Oklahoma, Killers of the Flower Moon is based on David Grann’s best-selling novel, telling the story of a string of murders happening among the Osage Nation that became known as the Reign of Terror. Eric Roth wrote the script for the film.

Cancelmi is playing a character described as a local hustler and close friend of DiCaprio’s Ernest Burkhart, while Isbell will be making his acting debut as an adversary of Burkhart’s. Simpson, who has had small roles in films like Queen & Slim, The Dead Don’t Die, and The Hunt, will be playing infamous rodeo champion and bootlegger Henry Grammer.
This casting news means that we’re one step closer to the beginning of shooting on the film, which is scheduled to start in May, with Apple currently planning a release in 2022. Surely this is a film that will be near the top of everyone’s most anticipated lists.
