We’re a little less than a month away from finding out if Steven Yeun will win an Oscar for his performance in Minari, but it looks like the actor is already working to find his next major film role.
Deadline is reporting that the actor is in negotiations to star in the next film from Oscar winner Jordan Peele.
This would be a massive move for both Yeun and Peele, as the actor is in high demand at the moment, and Peele is one of the hottest filmmakers in the industry after the massive successes of his first two features, Get Out and Us.
Details on Peele’s upcoming third feature are on tight guard, but we know that Keke Palmer is already set to star in the leading role, and Daniel Kaluuya is also in negotiations to reunite with his Get Out director. That collaboration resulted in Kaluuya’s first Oscar nomination, while his second came this year for Judas and the Black Messiah, and could likely result in a win for the actor.
Yeun and Peele have a connection already, as the actor had a starring role in the first season of Peele’s recent revival of The Twilight Zone. The actor also has a hot A24 television property on the way titled Beef, which pairs him with Ali Wong and was recently acquired for release by Netflix.
