Focus Features to Release ‘Belfast’ from Kenneth Branagh on November 12th

Focus Features has announced today that it has set the release date for Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast. The movie is hitting theaters on November 12th, almost two months after another Branagh directed film, Death on the Nile, is set for release.

Focus describes Belfast as “a poignant story of love, laughter and loss in one boy’s childhood, amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s” and will star Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciarán Hinds, while introducing 10 year old Jude Hill. Balfe and Dornan are set to play “a passionate working-class couple caught up in the mayhem”, while Dench and Hinds are playing “sharp-witted grandparents.”

No further details on the project are known, but it’s safe to say that, with Death on the Nile and Belfast, Kenneth Branagh has kept himself busy during COVID and is now ready to release yet another directorial effort. Let’s just hope it’ll be better than Artemis Fowl
