Joey’s Home Movies For the Week of March 1st – Catch Up on ‘Rick and Morty’

Welcome back to my Home Movies! Today, we honestly don’t have too much of a column. There’s no Criterion release this week, the new movies are rough, and nothing too interesting is getting re-released. So, we’re taking a temporary turn away from film and focusing on television. There’s a very cool Rick and Morty set hitting shelves, so read on for more on that. Also, stay tuned for some better slates to come…

Joey’s Top Pick

Adult Swim

Rick and Morty: Seasons 1-4

I’m hardly the first one to say it, but Rick and Morty is one of the smartest shows on television, on top of being one of the funniest. What creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have consistently come up with, for four seasons now, is mind-boggling. Season Four, while on the shorter side, was among the most daring things on TV. Having all of the seasons together in this set is an excellent way to chronicle the evolution of the show. What started out as already tremendous has grown to something not just spectacular, but often profound as well. If you know, you know.
