Without question, Tom Holland is the star of Cherry. However, if you’re paying attention, you should also notice how great Ciara Bravo is. In a very real way, she’s one of the film’s secret weapons. I praised them both in my review of the movie (found here), which marks the Russo Brothers‘ follow-up to Avengers; Endgame. As Cherry hits theaters today, I had the chance a few days ago to chat with Bravo. While the big names are Holland, along with Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, but Bravo is just as essential to the movie’s success. So, this was a pleasure, especially as it’s clear that her star is on the rise.
Below, you can hear my interview with Bravo. We talk Cherry, of course, as well as working with Holland. She’s excellent in the film, like he is, so it was a pleasure to talk with her. Plus, she was incredibly casual and easy-going, which is always a plus. In my rave review yesterday, I included this bit about Bravo and Holland:
Tom Holland is terrific in the central role, bringing energy and intensity to the title part. He’s in nearly every scene and is utterly captivating. Without question, working with the Brothers behind the camera seems to bring out the best in Holland. It’s a world away from Peter Parker, but equally compelling. Ciara Bravo is a revelation too, presenting the heart and soul of the film. Together, they’re a wonderful couple.
