Seventh Annual Game Award Nominations Announced

Nominations for the seventh annual Game Awards, which honor the best in both studio and independent video games, were announced today. 

The Last of Us Part II dominated with ten nominations, garnering a nod in nearly every category for which it was eligible, including Best Score and Music, for which two-time Oscar-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla is nominated. The Last of Us Part II is followed by Hades with eight nominations and Ghost of Tsushima with seven. All three games are nominated for the coveted Game of the Year award.

The other Game of the Year candidates are Doom Eternal (four total nominations), Final Fantasy VII  Remake (six total nominations), and Animal Crossing: New Horizons (three total nominations).

The awards will broadcast live from Los Angeles, London and Tokyo on December 10 in a streaming ceremony.
