Donald, I need to see you in my office. Close the door, please. I’m gonna have to let you go. The company has opted to replace you with a promising candidate we got out of Scranton. So, pack up your things. We need you out by January 20th. If that doesn’t work for you, I can speak in a way you’re more comfortable with…you’re fired.

Yes, it happened. (here’s the AP report, as just one source). Joe Biden is President-Elect of the United States and Donald Trump will be a one term mistake. Congrats to President-Elect Biden, Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris (shattering all sorts of glass ceilings), and to the country at large. It took longer than hoped for, but the American people proved we can reject authoritarianism and racism. I and the site on the whole, along with the staff, were clear on where we stood. The people of this nation agreed, in historic numbers, putting us on the right side of history.

The days to come are not going to be easy. All of the issues currently plaguing the United States remain. However, President Biden as the steward of the U.S. offers up a steady hand. Get ready for science to have a place in government again. The White House is once again Our House. It’s a good day in America, my friends. Let us rejoice, but then, let us get back to work.

Congrats again to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris!
