Year in Advance Predictions Are Coming This Week…With a Twist!

It hasn’t escaped me that by now I’ve not only already posted my year in advance predictions for the Academy Awards, it’s possible that I’ve already updated them. This year? Not so much. Much like last year, this time around, I’ve taken my time. That being said, they’re coming at the end of this week, so feel free to rejoice.

In fact, I’ve added a slight twist to things, in that I’m releasing them in pieces. On Friday morning, you’ll be able to see my above the line predictions. I’m not going 50 deep in Best Picture just yet, but there will be 25. The below the line categories? They’ll make their debut next week, though tomorrow’s Awards Radar Podcast episode will have some discussion of them. So, while I go over the big categories with Myles, you’ll also hear us mention Civil War in Best Sound, as well as Dune: Part Two in several tech spots (as we’ve said for a while now), just for a few examples.

The other thing to note is that I’m not yet going to have them up in the predictions section, at least until the weekend. It’s a bit of a slog to input everything, so I’ll take my time. I’m sure you all understand, but just know that it’s not a mistake if the tabs there don’t reflect my picks for a few extra days. They’re coming, I’m just a bit lazy about it right now.

You’ll see where I land soon on the year to come soon enough, but until Friday (or Thursday when the podcast drops with some of my picks), feel free to speculate. That’s mainly what this part of the year is for, when thinking about the Oscars. So, have some fun with it…
