‘Cyberpunk 2077’ is the Latest Video Game Getting the Movie Treatment

Video games have never been a hotter commodity for film adaptations than they are right now. Between how profitable the Super Mario movies have been and the critical acclaim, not to mention box office receipts, for Zach Cregger‘s Resident Evil, it’s no surprise that any highly regarded games are fodder for adaptation now. The latest one? Cyberpunk 2077.

According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura are working on a movie version of Cyberpunk 2077. The action RPG has a narrative that would fit for film, as well as big ideas and scale, so it could be ripe for an adaptation. Plus, it already features Keanu Reeves playing a role, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to see him show up in the movie. More on this one as it starts to come together at Paramount.
