Awards Radar Podcast #310: Joey and Kate Talk About the New York Film Festival, Potential ‘Digger’ Audience Reactions, and More

Welcome back to the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure!

For episode 310, I’m joined once again by Kate Schroeder as this week’s co-host, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes and, of course, handling TV Topics. This episode features, in large part, Kate and I talking about the New York Film Festival. We compare NYFF to other festivals, as well as discuss what we’ve seen this year. For me, I get into Bucking Fastard (reviewed here), Godzilla Minus Zero (reviewed here), Misty Green (reviewed here) NAZA (reviewed here), and Paper Tiger (reviewed here). Kate talks Making Marie Antoinette (reviewed here) and Rose (reviewed here). I also chime in on Primetime (reviewed here) as well as talk more about Digger (reviewed here). The Digger conversation is largely about potential audience reactions, leading to some CinemaScore chatter. Throw in some of your questions and it’s another strong festival season episode. Kate will be gone next episode, but back afterwards, so stay tuned to see who joins me next week…

As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 310th one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week (or close to it), so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening… or watching!
