New Trailer Released for ‘Wild Horse Nine’

This morning, Searchlight Pictures released a new trailer for Wild Horse Nine, sure to be one of their biggest awards contenders this year. Buzz has steadily been building for Martin McDonaugh‘s latest, ever since its debut at the Venice Film Festival. Subsequent screenings at the Telluride Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival have only made the chorus of praise louder, especially for John Malkovich and his Best Actor candidacy. Sam Rockwell and Steve Buscemi also star, with McDonagh writing and directing. Our own Joey Magidson saw it in Telluride and raved, calling it here in his review “arguably Martin McDonagh’s best movie.” Look for this one in theaters starting on November 6th.

The synopsis from Searchlight is as follows:

Shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) are dispatched from Santiago to Easter Island by their bureau chief, MJ (Steve Buscemi). Amongst the Island’s iconic statues, and as the longtime partners wrestle with their dark pasts and present conspiracies, Chris’s newfound bond with a pair of rebellious students (Mariana di Girolamo and Ailín Salas) threatens to send everyone’s trip to this remote paradise sideways.
