Awards Radar Community: Which Film From the Second Half of the Year Are You Most Looking Forward to Seeing?

Now that we’re halfway through July, attention can be turned towards the second half of the year. 2026 has certainly had its fair share of big films, but the back half promises to have even more. So, it feels only right to make that the subject of today’s Awards Radar Community Question. The question in mind? Well, what movie from the second half of the year are you most looking forward to seeing? That’s what we want to know…

Of course, the big one for many will be Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey. No film this year feels bigger, nor will 2026 have a blockbuster that generates more chatter than this one. Nolan is a filmmaker working in a singular size and scale, so that’s a factor as well. If The Odyssey is your pick, definitely let us know your reasoning. My review will be up at noon today, but for now, this is my reaction after the press screening on Monday evening:

There’s also other summer blockbusters, like The End of Oak Street or Spider-Man: Brand New Day to consider, as well as smaller fare like I Want Your Sex, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, and Tony, just to name a few options. Plus, Coyote vs. Acme is finally coming out. If any of those flicks strike your fancy, obviously let us know why. I’ve seen and loved three of those, with two already being on the (social media) record, and one more to come when a social embargo lifts this evening. So, I can vouch for there being quality ahead.

Then, we have the fall and winter, where huge offerings like Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three will be there, as will a whole host of potential Oscar contenders. There, you may be partial to Digger or The Social Reckoning, for example, or perhaps Wild Horse Nine. There’s also something like Werwulf to consider. This is just the tip of the iceberg, too. So, if something has your attention, don’t be shy about saying so.

Now, the choice is yours. Which title from the back half of 2026 are you most anticipating? Is it just The Odyssey this weekend? Something we won’t see until November or December?
