A few months ago, our own Joey Magidson wrote a Sunday Scaries piece (here) urging filmmaker David Lowery to finally make a full on horror movie. Well, it seems like Joey has written that into existence, as Lowery is now attached to an in demand horror package. Plus, he’s not alone, as fellow indie filmmaker Alex Ross Perry is co-writing the project with him. More below on this one.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lowery is going to direct an adaptation of the John Langan horror novel The Fisherman, while co-writing with Perry. Behind the scenes, Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes will be producing, alongside Gary Dauberman. The book sounds right up Lowery’s alley, too, so keep an eye on this film. If everything comes together and it gets made, it could be one scary time at the movies. Stay tuned.
