Welcome back to my Home Movies! Today, we have a real fun 4K and Blu-ray collector’s item hitting shelves in Steven Spielberg: The Spotlight Collection, a box set of some of the master’s classic films. Coming on the day that Disclosure Day reviews drop is no accident, but it does make for a nice tribute today to the legendary director. This week also features a bunch of 4K re-releases, the Lorne Michaels documentary Lorne, as well as a new addition to the Criterion Collection. What else might be available? Read on to find out…

Steven Spielberg: The Spotlight Collection (4K)

Any Steven Spielberg fan would do well to pick up this box set, which is like a highlight reel of several of his masterpieces. The collection contains Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Saving Private Ryan, and Schindler’s List. Any Spielberg list of his best films would include most of these seven in his top ten. The addition of War of the Worlds is a little unusual, but does diversify the set a bit. Especially as the Disclosure Day review embargo is just hours away (my, spoiler alert, rave review will go up then), this is something to definitely look into. You certainly won’t regret it, even if the price point is admittedly a little bit steep. It’s a beautiful collection, though.
