Whenever a young horror filmmaker has a big time debut, Hollywood lines up to get whatever they have in mind next. With Curry Barker, his feature debut Obsession has been really making waves since its release. As the buzz remains, studios are eager to have whatever Barker is aiming to do next, with one really trying to go above and beyond. More below.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, one studio is so hot to be in the Barker business that they’ve made an eight figure offer for his next film, which is not even at the pitching stage yet. Sight unseen, they’ve offered him $10 million for the movie. No word on if it’s going to lead to a deal or not, but it shows just how intense the attention is on Barker. He’s also got a new take on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre coming, but for his next original work, Hollywood simply can not wait. Stay tuned to see how it all plays out.
