Beyond the Competition titles at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival, one of the more well received movies to play was Jane Schoenbrun‘s Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. Starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson, the film looks to play with genre in a really interesting way. Today, an official trailer was released, which you can see below. MUBI will put this one out in theaters on August 7th.

After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.
