A sequel to Spaceballs has been in the rumor mill for some time now, though movement in the past year on the follow-up has really taken off. Now, not only is the sequel to one of Mel Brooks‘ comedy classics actually going into production, a 2027 release date has been announced. Read on for details on exactly when.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spaceballs 2 will be hitting theaters on April 23rd, 2027. Directed by Josh Greenbaum, the film has Brooks, Rick Moranis, Daphne Zuniga, Bill Pullman, and George Wyner reprising their roles, while newcomers include Josh Gad (who is also co-writing with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez), Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman, and Anthony Carrigan.
